《CNNMoney》周一 (24日) 報導，如果您還在用 Windows XP 電腦系統，恭喜您等於從微軟 (Microsoft Corp.)(MSFT-US) 手上賺到了 100 美元。

不過這個「獎勵」的兌換條件是，您必須購買一台 Windows 8 系統的新電腦。

符合此項促銷計畫的用戶，可在微軟網路商店或零售店面兌換此一優惠，不過微軟會進行審查以確定，用戶目前仍在使用現年 13 歲的 Windows XP 系統平台。

此優惠適用於 599-2299 美元價位區間的個人電腦，截止日期為 6 月 15 日。

微軟在今 (2014) 年 4 月 8 日正式停止對 Win XP 系統的服務支援，不再發布安全更新以對應病毒和攻擊行為等問題，而公司希望盡速催促客戶在此之前，趕快換掉這個老舊的系統。

市場研究機構 NetMarketShare 最新調查顯示，Win XP 仍在 Windows 系統用戶中占有 30％ 比例，不過其中絕大多數應是來自中國的個人用戶，或者企業客戶。

反觀微軟主打的 Win 8 系統，在 Windows 用戶中最近比例才終於攀升突破 10％。
